The 110 km long Wadi As Sulai is, besides the Wadi Hanifah System in the west, a natural rainwater drainage basin for the eastern part of Riyadh. Over the next years Wadi As Sulai will be developed to improve its natural drainage function, to enhance its biodiversity and to add recreational landscape uses.  The area will be transformed into a natural, green park corridor.  Complementary to Wadi Hanifah, this green lung will improve quality of life and provide open space opportunities. It will also be a stimulus for investment in adjoining areas.
