This project was accomplished with intense participation of the residents who continue to be actively involved in the maintenance of the spaces created. The social network that developed around the planning and design process was crucial for guaranteeing the long term sustainability of the project. Over several years and various design stages, open spaces were built including playgrounds for children of different ages and various seating areas. A central focus of the design is an ‘ancient Milk Counter’, which functions as a meeting point and community centre.
